"The April rain, the April rain,
Comes slanting down in fitful showers,
Then from the furrow shoots the grain,
And banks are fledged with nestling flowers;
And in grey shawl and woodland bowers
The cuckoo through the April rain
Calls once again."

    FISH and chips remain one of the most favourite 'takeaway' meals in the UK but a call has been made to reduce portions to tackle waste and obesity.
    The BBC tells us that JJ Food Service, which supplies more than 1,000 shops,suggests that all chip portions be cut by almost a third and an industry survey reckons 45% of customers want smaller chip portions. 36% would prefer a smaller fish portion, given the choice, to cut down on calories.

    Interestingly I used to always ask for a half size portion of chips every time I got fish and chips from my local chippie. They never had a problem with this (charging me half the full portion price). The half portion was more than enough any way.

    @mheredge the fish season is on in my country. I love to eat fish in the winter especially fried fish with some traditional spices.
