"The April rain, the April rain,
Comes slanting down in fitful showers,
Then from the furrow shoots the grain,
And banks are fledged with nestling flowers;
And in grey shawl and woodland bowers
The cuckoo through the April rain
Calls once again."

Law of Attraction

mheredgemheredge TeacherHere and therePosts: 31,060 mod
@Shiny, @anshi and @dope had an interesting divergence of opinion on the Law of Attraction this morning. A topic suggested by @nidhii, it is very interesting.

"Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. It is believed that regardless of age, nationality or religious belief, we are all susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe, including the Law of Attraction. It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. If you focus on negative doom and gloom you will remain under that cloud. If you focus on positive thoughts and have goals that you aim to achieve you will find a way to achieve them with massive action."

The article is interesting and provides links to further reading on the subject. I had never really thought it was not obvious, but I have always believed that when you think something will work out, it usually does. By looking on the bright side of things, for me at least, life is very good.

What do you think?

your words remind me of the idea of book which i read it before called secret i guess and mention in it story of man used to dream about specific house and drew it and put it in box when he moved from place to place and forgot about it and after many years he searched in his things and founded this hand painting and surprised because he founded his home exactly how he used to dream when he was young
i think that's close to what you said.
but my opinion yes you have this ability but by work and be insist to reach what you want you will attract your thoughts

@mheredge Sorry I was not able to attend .But this thing always attract me to know can our thoughts write our destiny .And why even when think positive ,negative happened with us.

I thought that @Mahaaa's story about the man whose dream came true when he eventually found the home he had dreamed about years before was interesting. Some people have a good idea of what their goal is and I think are all the more likely to achieve it than someone who doesn't have anything positive to look to. Whether this is a conscious or subconscious process, at the end of the day the result is the same.

If my understanding of the 'law of attraction' is correct though @nidhii, I think is emphasises more the conscious pursuit of dreams and ambitions and less my haphazard approach.

@mheredge, well, I thought about Newton when I saw this title. B)

So did I until I read what it was referring to her @Xanthippe. Quite a catchy title though.

I believe in the law of attraction but I think it is not about thinking. Actually, I think if you love something from bottom of your heart, the universe will try to give you the thing. Based on " the power of now" written by Eckhart Tolle, the universe is interconnected by consciousness. When you focus on something so badly, you will become totally present and in that moment you are not just part of the world but you are it. In the whole present state you can make the universe fight for you.

there is a law of attraction but there is our destiny,I'm sure that we have to think positively to be happy even the good thing not happen it was an experience for us to try another thing then we'll learn from our experience which others called faillures.

It's amazing how different thoughts evokes that title in people. As regarding me, I thought of Venus coming from the see. B)

@mheredge “And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist , he said that . Even I have experienced this , I wanted a motorcycle after my 10th grade and I had a particular bike in my mind and I was not expecting any less than that , I kept positive mind towards it that one day I'll get what I desire to have after 2 years I got my own bike. Since then I am inspired by law of attraction. It says that when you attract something towards your self irrespective of negative or positive vibe it comes to you (it will take time but it will definitely come to you ) so always be happy and think positive for what you want @Deucalion @Xanthippe @mouna @navidafrasiabian @nidhii @Mahaaa @anshi

I agree @mustafatajani. I think maybe it has also something to do with a law of avoidance too though. As when you know what you want, you won't be satisfied with anything less!

I have read a story of a boy who won lottery .And gives credit to this law of attraction theory .He said that from starting he has firm believe that he is going to win and he won.

I agree with this but if sometime we fail to achieve that all world start blaming you and giving advice that we have wasted our time on our illusion and that we should be practical and should live in reality .

@mheredge I am not familiar with law of avoidance . but yeah never settle for less.
  • mheredgemheredge Teacher Here and therePosts: 31,060 mod
I made it up @mustafatajani! But it makes sense. I know I try to avoid things I don't like and not to repeat mistakes.

@Xanthippe, instead you are more scientific. Though, I'm wondering wether Newton could be better to you than an Apollo assistant.

You don't meet anyone by accident. Everyone who comes into our lives has something to contribute.

There are those who come to remind you and can remain marked on your soul for eternity whether they are permanently a part of your life or not. There are those who make you grow: the teachers of our souls. Then there those who are here to stay and remain a part of our life forever. There are those who come to awaken you and shake our reality. There are those who come into our lives for a mere moment, and finally there are those who are meant to leave.

I agree that every single person impacts our lives in some way. Even someone we see in a supermarket who smiles at us changes our lives - because they will lift our mood, even if only for a short time.
