I want to understand the meaning of "introductions out of the way" sentence. Is it a phrase or just a combination of words?

That's an interesting question, for which I don't know the answer. Could you also provide the context from where you picked that phrase, @pirate_jack. As you know, contexts are always relevant for interpreting ambiguous phrases.

I understand 'introductions out of the way' to mean that now the person speaking or explaining something has introduced the subject, this is now when he or she is going to get to the point.

Or it could be after someone has introduced several people and and now wants to get on with the content of the meeting @pirate_jack and @Deucalion.

It sounds to me a little bit difficult for the uptake, @mheredge.
