"Still lie the sheltering snows, undimmed and white;
And reigns the winter's pregnant silence still;
No sign of spring, save that the catkins fill,
And willow stems grow daily red and bright.
These are days when ancients held a rite
Of expiation for the old year's ill,
And prayer to purify the new year's will."

    I am thinking about the 'genius' who created these riddles. It reminds me of Gotham, a TV series where a riddler got famous by asking some silly riddles.

    I agree with @swathi

    What's at least 6 inches long, goes in your mouth, and is more fun if it vibrates?

    I have a riddle which is somewhat of a play on words, too.

    I am holding a bee. What is in my eye?

    Thank you so much for the such interesting riddle. It wasn't simple to find an answer.
    This is an amusing grammatical quip on the phrase: "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
    The phrase means that beauty is in the eye of the viewer. That beauty is not an absolute, but beauty is subjective and depends on the opinion of the person perceiving the beauty. What is ugly to one person may be beautiful to another.
    Change beholder to bee holder, meaning person who is holding a bee in his hand. Beauty is in the eye of the person holding a bee in their hand (bee holder).
    So, the answer is Beauty.

    That is correct, well done! I think it's a very clever little riddle indeed, although it does take a little while to understand it.
