By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.

Helen Hunt Jackson - September
The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze.

John Updike, September

I'm Max from Thailand, Thai is my native language.

How long have I been learning English?

Well, English subject is core subject of my national education discipline, from elementary school to high school, it is around 17 years that you have to study English, but I was class clown, you know, from 17 years of studying English, I think, I learned just little stuff. However, when I attended international institute, I pushed myself to study English hard for 2 years. So, that might be a serious English study. In short, I'd say that I have been learning English for 2 years.

Why am I learning English?

Typically, my objective was only to get high score in English tests, but I found something interesting. I noticed that I spended time for studying English textbooks less than studying from my own language textbooks, which were translated by Thai instructors, and I learned them faster. so, my objective of learning English has been changed, not only for getting high score, but also for learning everything, foreign cultures, people thinking, people creativity, know-how etc. More importantly, it is "free".

    Welcome to the forum @MAX.

It's so great to read that you are not learning English just to pass exams. :D

You'll come across people from many different countries and walks of life here, so I think you'll have your content when it comes to become virtually well-travelled.

If you ever get lost or have any questions, feel free to ask.
