"Still lie the sheltering snows, undimmed and white;
And reigns the winter's pregnant silence still;
No sign of spring, save that the catkins fill,
And willow stems grow daily red and bright.
These are days when ancients held a rite
Of expiation for the old year's ill,
And prayer to purify the new year's will."

    The word subversive can be mean modern revolutionary. Do these girl something wrong or want they say we are women and we will be recognized?

    Strange, but apparently this is not a totally new phenomenon.

    August 6 1954

    “Girl Scout Handbook” Subversive?

    In one of the more absurd incidents in the anti-Communist Cold War, the Illinois American Legion on this day attacked the Girl Scout Handbook for being “Un-American” and “internationalist.” The Girl Scouts of America caved in and revised the text of the handbook.

    The Girl Scout Red Scare, part three

    Sixty years ago, on August 6, 1954, the Illinois branch of the American Legion denounced the Girl Scouts for “subversive and un-American influences.” It was the latest battle surrounding the 1953 Intermediate Girl Scout Handbook.

    Oh dear, I was a Girl Guide when I was younger, so does that mean I am a threat?

    I think the Guiding movement is actually great, as it allows women to develop, be really strong, and learn how to live the way they want to live.

    So was I @GemmaRowlands, but I was always a fairly subversive one in my own way. I enjoyed the Guides even though we only ever managed to go camping once for just one night.

    Sorry I had a typo here

    @Paulette I think Frank explains subversive quite well

    I was thinking of Frank so much that I did not write his name down

    I got this amazing article about scout and how it affects. I found that it's a good thing to do. But I didn't have any experience with it. But now, schools should have these things for extracurricular.

    I think the subversive bit was just over Trump's immigration ban @mohit_singh. Usually the Boy Scout and Girl Guide movement are seen as very respectable and pillars of society.
