Postcard #5 - Where is Zom? Who is she going to meet up with?

Hello LEO members,

I couldn’t resist the call from a few LEO members to start exploring some parts of Asia, so I’m back on an international flight to the northern hemisphere.

I’ll cross the tropic of cancer and fly a distance of more than 5,900nm, but I’ll not catch the red eye as I’m departing early in the morning and will arrive in the evening with only one hour time difference between here and my final destination. The only thing I worry about is catching a cold over there as I’m leaving summer like temperatures for autumnal weather conditions. The transition might be a bit tough the first couple of days, isn’t it?

This hasn't stopped me though; nothing can stop the excitement of meeting up in the flesh with a LEO member, and I can’t wait to experience a different cuisine, language, culture and environment. Actually I’ll be very happy to leave the BBQ and bush style cuisine for a while.

Any idea what this destination is? Who am I going to meet over there?

@Shiny03, @kindgnice, @NatashaT, @Lynne, @nidhii, @rupsil, @Bubbly, @mheredge, @mohit_singh, @amatsuscribbler, @aladdin and anyone joining in. Let’s play! ^.^

    Kidding!
    You are coming to Pakistan!
May be for meeting @Bubbly .
But my second thought is for @mheredge ( Nepal)
And third guess is for @Shiny03 ( Japan).

I don't know. How many miles from Australia to Pakistan? so until now there are three possible guess.
@Elle @Shiny03 @Bubbly. I heard @Zom in TGIF she want to visit Korea.

Lol, I am not interested in the real name of Girls only. Sometimes we should aware about Giants of World or we can say, Global future political leader.

Something is strange: 5,900 nautical miles and just 1 hour from your point (I am using Brisbane as the reference) you crossed the Tropic of Cancer and the Article Circle!
With these information, you are in Russia!

I'm following the time line of -1 hour (Tokyo, Seoul).

Are you sure you are 5,900 nm? :D

@rupsil that what I want to ask her about? Are you sure about 5,900 mm?

Agreed. It is either Japan or Korea. My guess is Japan. :)

5,900nm is a bit confusing for me as well.

    @Bubbly

    Brisbane - Tokyo = 7,169 Km = 3,871 nm (nautical miles)
    Brisbane - Seoul = 7,734 Km = 4,176 nm

    5,900 nm = 10,926 Km

And you have to follow the time line: both Tokyo and Seoul are -1h from Brisbane.

@rupsil Brisbane has limited international destinations, though - she might be flying out of Sydney, instead. That might change the total number of nautical miles, but I don´t think by so much....

I think @Zom is going to Nepal to meet Marianne.
  • rupsilrupsil Posts: 441 ✭✭✭✭✭
    I don't think so @april because Nepal is -5:15 from Sydney ;)

  • rupsilrupsil Posts: 441 ✭✭✭✭✭
No @april . The problem is related to distance + time.
  • ZomZom Shadok Posts: 2,603 ✭✭✭✭✭✭

Ooh, then it must be North Tokyo (3871 nm + ... = 3900 nm?
Are you sure you don't have an appointment with Zom, @Shiny03 ?
You weren't the winner of the biggest liar contest, were you? :)

    :D Based on @Zom ´s correction, and @rupsil ´s earlier calculations, I´m going to agree with @nidhii - She´s going to Japan to see @Shiny03 !

I guess you are coming to India @Zom if you are talking about 3900 NM.

India is the country where you will cross Tropic of Cancer hopefully you will meet me as well. Just let me know in which city you will arrive I will be there to meet you

But again I think its Japan only as in Australia there are 4-time zone and if you compare it with India then the difference is 1.5 hours and when you talk about Japan there is an only 1-hour difference.

But again there is one more thing which I would like to emphasize on is you can go to the Philippines as well. You can fly from Australia - India - Philippines (Final Destination) .

But why you will do like this? again that is a question so that force me to think about Korea and Japan more rather than the Philippines.

Not sure but it can be now @Zom we can't wait for an answer.

If you are not going to the Philippines then please take a flight for the Philippines and announce me as a winner
