There is wind where the rose was,
Cold rain where sweet grass was,
And clouds like sheep
Stream o'er the steep
Grey skies where the lark was.

Nought warm where your hand was,
Nought gold where your hair was,
But phantom, forlorn,
Beneath the thorn,
Your ghost where your face was.

Cold wind where your voice was,
Tears, tears where my heart was,
And ever with me,
Child, ever with me,
Silence where hope was.

Dear diary, after joining the queue at 4am, I got a seat on the Nilgiri Historical Train to go up to Ooty. Yesterday when i went to book my ticket, they told me that there were no seats left. I was given a 'wait list' number 88, but as number ten in the queue that worked out to be first come, first served, it all worked out well.

I'm a big kid when it comes to steam trains. This one is even more unique as it runs on a special ratchet to get it up the tracks as the line is so steep.

    Hi Diary!
The next two weeks will be very quiet because of the recessed end of year.
But tomorrow will be short, I'll expend almost all day cooking to receive my guests at the Christmas night.

You are right @Nil, it can be watermelon, 'melancia' in Portuguese, I think 'watermelon' is a very weird word. :-B

@science24 Yalda is the name of an event. We celebrate it on the longest night of the year and last day of fall.

  • mheredgemheredge Teacher Here and therePosts: 28,148 mod
Dear Diary, celebrated Christmas in a Buddhist monastery, listening to the Dalai Lama. Christmas lunch was a tofu and vegetable stew. It wasn't quite your roast pork @Helvio, but very nice all the same.

No @Helvio. They aren't. The alphabets of both languages are almost same. But they are different.

    @Helvio:
ایا شما فرانسوی بلد هستین؟ means can you speak french, not are you french.
  • HelvioHelvio Posts: 1,860 Inactive

I must knew that you was kidding.
