Trying to use phrasal verbs

Penelope204Penelope204 Posts: 70 ✭✭
I need to improve to use phrasal verbs. So I posted a few examples. Help me friends!!! :) @kindgnice @Lynne @Shiny03

blow up: The Second World War blew up on the first September of 1939 with the assault of @!~* Germany against Polland.
give up: For many years she's been fihighting against the pollution. But now she's given up.

I've taken off my dress and then I've put on my pijama.

Take on: Coca Cola took me on one of its industries.

Hi @Penelope204 - Phrasal verbs are tricky little beasts, but they make English fun.

    Here's a bonus correction:-

give up: For many years she's been fighting against pollution, but now she's given up.

I took off my dress and then I put on my pyjamas.
    or
I've taken my dress off and now I will put on my pyjamas.

Take on: Coca Cola took me on. (In this context it means "gave me a job".)

    Another ones!!!

stay up: Yesterday I stayed up all night to study for the exam.
run away: If a bear accached me I would run away.
fill in: my boyfriend gave me a ring and my heart was filled in of love.
call back: My boss call me before but I haven't seen the phone. Therefore I called him back just two minutes ago.
Try on: I'm trying on using phrasal verbs in a right contexts.

    @Penelope204 You're welcome! :wink:

I stay up late playing video games every day. (That's why I can't study English well...)

Have you ever listened to Carly Rae Jepsen's song, Run Away With Me? It's so into me! I like it.

Okay, now I'm really jealous of you. Your boyfriend proposed to you?

Hi, I can't answer your phone right now. Leave a message and I'll call back soon.

This skirt is pretty. Can I try it on? Penelope, let's learn phrasal verbs. It's fun.
But I'll never suggest you try on them...you'll be naked!

Why are you trying to answer my phone?

To call back has another meaning: to return to a certain place.
