On this breezy October morn, I walk
in the swift shadows of cloud-cursing rooks,
watching the world wake on the horizon.
Leo Yankevich
All houses wherein men have lived and died
Are haunted houses. Through the open doors
The harmless phantoms on their errands glide,
With feet that make no sound upon the floors.

We meet them at the doorway, on the stair,
Along the passages they come and go,
Impalpable impressions on the air,
A sense of something moving to and fro.

Acquaintance Meeting with Kindgnice

kindgnicekindgnice LEO Motivator!!!Posts: 7,646 mod
Hello folks! It's really a great experience to meet your LEO members and acquaint with each other. This way, we'll be able to learn and know each other's cultures and behaviors. Explore the possibilities of exchanging different information about English proficiency for our growth and improvement. Conflicting time zones? Not anymore, because we'll be meeting those who are available with respect to the agreed meeting time. No need to compromise health and timezones. ;)

And one more thing, you can also host your acquaintance meetings and post the minutes here if in case I'm not around and/or busy at work. I trust your capabilities my friends. ;) Enjoy!!!

What: Acquantance Meeting with LEO members Episode 1 - Hosted by: Kindg Nice
    When: 11:00 PM - 12:00 PM (PST)

    Minutes of the Meeting (MOM):
    - Ahmed is 21 years old and is studying in an American schokl at Cairo.
    - Jenny is working from a hotel and restaurant.
    - Kindg is working in oil and gas industry.
    - We sang Adele's song such as 'Hello' and we really liked the voices of each other.
    - We decided to start a reading session where each of us had turns to read the lyrics of Adele's songs.
    - The lyrics we read is shown below:

Hello, it's me, I was wondering
If after all these years you'd like to meet to go over everything
They say that time's supposed to heal, yeah
But I ain't done much healing

    Hello, can you hear me?
I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free
I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet

Hello, it's me, I was wondering
If after all these years you'd like to meet to go over everything
They say that time's supposed to heal, yeah
But I ain't done much healing

    Hello, can you hear me?
I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free
I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet

There's such a difference between us
    And a million miles

    Hello from the other side
    I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry, for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home

    Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry, for breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore

    Hello, how are you?
It's so typical of me to talk about myself, I'm sorry
    I hope that you're well
Did you ever make it out of that town where nothing ever happened?

    It's no secret
That the both of us are running out of time

So hello from the other side
    I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry, for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home

    Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry, for breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore

What: Acquaintance Meeting with LEO members Episode 3 - Hosted by: Kindg Nice
    When: March 26, 2016, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM (PHT)

    Minutes of the Meeting (MOM):
    - This should be the agenda that will be discussed yesterday,
    dp2P62R.png
but since most of our participants are offline, we decided to start a new discussion about acquaintance. :)
    - Here are the 6 steps of How to Make Acquaintances Good Friends
that can also be viewed from this link:

    http://m.wikihow.com/Make-Acquaintances-Good-Friends

    1. Be funny. There is NO better way to make friends than by making them laugh!
    2. Don't brag. Ever. About anything. That is a huge turnoff for any type of relationship.
    3. Compliment them! But not every time you see them about the same thing. Example of what not to do: "I love your shoes!" (then soon after) "Your bag is adorable! Where did you get it?".. this is way too excessive! Don't compliment them on a similar thing every time you hangout either. Trust me, they'll remember.
    4. Talk about topics you think they'd be interested in. To cross the line from acquaintance into friend territory, you've got to be interesting! ( I.E.: Why Tia didn't pick Dani, Who is Ben dating nowadays?, Who are you dating?, Are you going to the game tomorrow?, Do you like Paramore?, Have you ever heard the song Heart of Glass?) Stuff along those lines is always a safe way to go.
5.Give them hints you want to hangout more often. Namely, say something like "I think I want to go to the mall tomorrow" - they say, "Me too!" - and you ask if she wants to go together. Or, "Is anybody going to the game?" - they say yes. "Really? Wanna carpool?" Things like that nearly always work, and if they have other plans you don't feel like an idiot for inviting them and getting turned down.
    6. Smile, smile, smile. No one likes a downer. Pessimism is a huge turnoff and a frown is worth a thousand words, so turn those corners up and flash them your pearly whites!

    Tips:
Listen before you speak, if you hear one of their interests you'll be able to bring it up later so the two of you have something to talk about.

    Warnings:
Never lie or fake something about yourself to get a friend. Do you want to be friends with a fake liar? Of course not. So what makes you think they do?

    Participants: @miss_masa @astralia123 @peaceculture2 @Owarius @kimhybin

To all LEO members, please feel free to spread the news about the next session for next week. The agenda that we missed to tackle yesterday will be considered as icebreaker next week. :)

    @kennouchi_youcef @ahmed_habib @Rema @Ahmad2 @gomaa @Faridmadi @shasha96 @Ezîza and others. :smiley:

God bless you all and see you next week.

    Heads up!!!
I think it would be better to start the session from 8pm-9pm Philippines Time next week to give way for other time zones as well. Hope to see you there next session. ;) For any questions, feel free to post them here.
