"Still lie the sheltering snows, undimmed and white;
And reigns the winter's pregnant silence still;
No sign of spring, save that the catkins fill,
And willow stems grow daily red and bright.
These are days when ancients held a rite
Of expiation for the old year's ill,
And prayer to purify the new year's will."
Helen Hunt Jackson, A Calendar of Sonnet's: February

How do you celebrate St Valentine's Day?

In the UK, and many other countries, St Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14th.

Do you celebrate in your country? What do you do?

Over here, we usually buy presents for our loved ones, and then go out to celebrate, perhaps for a meal or on a date somewhere.

I don't have a partner at the moment, so I won't be doing anything unfortunately!
