"The April rain, the April rain,
Comes slanting down in fitful showers,
Then from the furrow shoots the grain,
And banks are fledged with nestling flowers;
And in grey shawl and woodland bowers
The cuckoo through the April rain
Calls once again."

I want to learn a few English songs and show off them to my friends in karaoke. What songs do you recommend for that? I want to pick some popular and up-tempo songs so that they can enjoy. And songs with easy lyrics to sing are best.

I was thinking of joining a choir that sings rock songs but their rehearsal day is on a day I can't make! I have a very poor voise though I can sing in tune. Lynne has a lovely voice!

Agreed. But you sound like her, so does it mean that you have a lovely voice too?

    @Shiny03: I think @Lynne and @amatsuscribbler have both lovely voices. :)
I like their british accents as well. ;)

Aww thanks @kindgnice, but have you heard me sing?

@Yellowtail - Some members have run a few karaoke sessions in the past.

Yellow submarine by the Beatles is a good karaoke song, I love Rock and Roll and Happy are worth a go too.

I haven't heard you singing @Lynne. How I wish I can duet with you some time. ;)

@Zom and I sang Fairytale of New York together once. It wasn't much like the original though.

Thank you for your recommendation! I love the Beatles of course. And Yellow Submarine seems really easy to sing. It should be fun if we sing it with my friends.

That's cool! Was that recorded in YouTube or other social media? Would like to hear the playback. :) @Lynne

I love the Eleanor Rigby song of Beatles. @Yellowtail @Lynne

That's one of my most favorite Beatles songs! Especially I love the sound of strings. It makes me feel like I stand on the edge of a cliff.
By the way, the movie is really cool too!

Yes buddy. I agree to you. I love singin' with it whenever my Dad plays his soundtracks. :) @Yellowtail

@kindgnice - I'm afraid only the people in the karaoke session that day could enjoy this interpretation of Fairytale of New York.

Hi, guys. I've finally made a recording of me singing an English song, "Where Did the Feeling Go?". I tried to follow the original key in my frist few tries, but I soon realized it was impossible, so I lowerd it till I could sing at ease.

    Hope you all like it!

I'm thinking of adding a few songs from Japan too, and also some Christmas songs. You know, Christmas is approaching.

@takafromtokyo the song is very nice and you voice is so deepfull. The words of the song are also very meaningsfull and release their own feelings. Thank you for sharing with us, you are truly a wonderful guy. <3

Thanks for taking your time and listening to my song. How was the volume? Did you have to pump it up to maximum to hear it? I’m a bit worried since I don’t use any authentic microphones. I’m using my smartphone to record it.

“Where did the feeling go?” Lyrics

    All alone, nothing to do
    It’s lonely here without you
The candle light is burning low
    Love songs on the radio
and memories are all I have to show

    Photographs, tickets for two
    Promises that all fell through
Now everything’s in black and white
The colors faded with the night
The stars we used to wish upon
    have somehow lost their lights

Where is the feeling we used to know?
Where is the music that played?
Oh, what happened to the love that used to show?
    Where did the feeding go?

@takafromtokyo I had to pump up the volume to 70 to hear it clearly. But what you did is wonderful.

Just as I thought. I knew this from my experience. I’ve been posting my recordings for a few years now, and I’ve got comments from some people that they needed to set the volume at maximum to hear them. I’ve tried vocaroo and spreaker in the past, but with same result. I’m using SoundCloud these days because one of them told me SoundCloud had the best sound system. But it seems like I’m still having the same issue. I guess I need to use a microphone.
