"The April rain, the April rain,
Comes slanting down in fitful showers,
Then from the furrow shoots the grain,
And banks are fledged with nestling flowers;
And in grey shawl and woodland bowers
The cuckoo through the April rain
Calls once again."

Mathilde Blind, April Rain

    “If pain must come, may it come quickly. Because I have a life to live, and I need to live it in the best way possible. If he has to make a choice, may he make it now. Then I will either wait for him or forget him.”

    Pain is a part of growing up. It's how we learn.

    I think often women have a high pain threshold. Maybe it's to do with having babies. One friend who had her husband watch when she gave birth to their daughter said that afterwards, he said that if he'd realised how painful the whole process would be, he might have had second thoughts about being a father!

    How cute his husband to care of her feelings! :)
    But I suppose they're happy now with their daughter. This is the life. The birth is painful, too.

    Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worse kind of suffering.

    It depends what you are waiting for, doesn't it @Csilla? I've never felt it to be painful waiting for a bus!

    Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have - life itself.
