September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.

Helen Hunt Jackson - September
The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze.

John Updike, September

What films are you looking forward to watching?

GemmaRowlandsGemmaRowlands ModeratorPosts: 5,327 mod
I am currently thinking about going to the cinema, but I don't know what I want to watch yet. I have been looking at the films that are coming out in the UK, and so far I am looking forward to The Hunger Games and Star Wars; both of which I would very much like to watch.

What about you? Are there any films that you're looking forward to?

Which ones have you seen so far @Bubbly? Are there any good ones? Sometimes even the Oscar predictions can fall short, depending on how good the movies produced in the year turned out.

I watched The Hunger Games a few days ago and I loved it, but I haven't yet seen Star Wars, so hopefully that is what I will be seeing this weekend.

  • GemmaRowlandsGemmaRowlands Moderator Posts: 5,327 mod
Yes I love singing @kindgnice and I have videos of my voice. Maybe I will post them when I am feeling brave one day if you would like to hear them!
  • kindgnicekindgnice LEO Motivator!!! Posts: 7,641 mod
Wow! I would love to hear your voice then. If you want we can make a duet? What songs you prefer for duet? :) @GemmaRowlands
Actually, I'm looking forward on creating my videos in YouTube sites, but I still have no time. Maybe if I see your videos while singing will encourage me to make one. :)
I hope you can also share them via Speaker? Have you heard of that? Speaker?
  • GemmaRowlandsGemmaRowlands Moderator Posts: 5,327 mod
I have never heard of Speaker, but I will take a look at it if you show me where to find it! I would love to duet with you :).

It's definitely new Maigret with Rowan Atkinson as Chief Inspector Jules Maigret. I've just seen the first episode and was impressed by Rowan Atkinson's playing. It's so unusual to see Mr. Bean being a reticent, broody French detective. This film made me change my mind about this actor.
  • GemmaRowlandsGemmaRowlands Moderator Posts: 5,327 mod
I think that Rowan Atkinson is very talented indeed @mikkilinn because he is able to play both serious and comedy characters, and that takes much more talent than most people realise.

This weekend I planned to start watching HEROES series from episode one. My desire are to improve listening skills, enjoying those series of drama and to add new vocabularies

It is great to watch shows in another language @peaceculture2 because it means you're able to learn more words in order to help you understand the story!

@thegingerelvis has shared a very interesting film titled as The Way.

From wikipedia: Thomas Avery (Martin Sheen) is an American ophthalmologist who goes to France following the death of his adult son, Daniel (Emilio Estevez), killed in the Pyrenees during a storm while walking the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James), a Catholic pilgrimage route to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain. Tom's purpose is initially to retrieve his son's body. However, in a combination of grief and homage to his son, Tom decides to walk the ancient spiritual trail where his son died, taking Daniel's ashes with him.
