By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.

Helen Hunt Jackson - September
The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze.

John Updike, September

I like to play tennis, but I think my favorite sport is basketball.
  • [Deleted User][Deleted User] Posts: 657
@Helvio Have you ever decided to play one of them?
  • HelvioHelvio Posts: 1,860 Inactive
    Just fun, nothing serious.

What about you @Nil? Do you play a sport, or are you more of a spectator?

I don't really follow any sports in this way, although I do like to watch white water kayaking.

My favourite competitive sport to play is darts. I wonder why? :D

I am not a spectator. And I don't play any sport now. But I like to try many sports.

And what are your favorite sports @Nil? :-?

My favorite sports are archery, scuba diving, sky diving, mountain climbing, self defense, and a little tennis.

    \o/,

Have you tried all of these? Really?
    Congratulations, I am your fan!

I think I would love archery! But here we don't have camp for training and the equipments are very expensive.

No no no no no @Helvio
I didn't try them, I like to try them. :D
Me, with 14 years old, sky diving?
I just tried self defense and shooting.

    Shooting with fire gun?

When I was 14 I used to hunt some wild birds with sling! But I never was a good shooter. :P
  • [Deleted User][Deleted User] Posts: 657
The gun was really heavy and I couldn't keep it.
one time I wasn't careful and I was shooting to my foot but thank god nothing happened. [-O<

I used to do a lot of sailing - racing as well as cruising, but was never much into kayaking or canoeing so much.. I dabbled in rock climbing but was never any good. I do like hiking a lot though, and scrabbling over rough terrain.

Ive never much liked competitive sports but enjoyed the odd game of badminton and squash. Nowadays I don't participate in any sport other than walking.

I was never any good at sport but I was good at gymnastics when I was young. I used to like squash and tennis but nowadays all I can manage is a walk! though I like scrambling too Marianne.

Walking is very good exercise @amatsu. I just wish rickshaw drivers could get it into their heads that some people actually want to walk!

I like swimming, volleyball and table tennis.
But swimming is the best of the best. But unfortunately, I haven't enough free time to practice. :(( :!!

Tell one more time, then I will believe you! :D

    Yes, swimming is very nice.
Although I like I have no technique for swimming, how we say here, I have learned swimming in a creek, with the head out of the water.

    --------------

I learnt to swim in a creek.

I don't know why it was posted twice and because I am not a moderator I can't edit my comments, so waiting you until you become a moderator and then you could eliminate it. :D

Troll? Surely not @Helvio. In theory I can edit, but since I can't see the edit button on my tablet, in practice I can't most of the time. :-)

Don't say that @Helvio! Lynne will bar you!

I hope the medicines don't have too many nasty side effects. What mischief will you get up to if you don't keep taking the medicines @Helvio?
  • HelvioHelvio Posts: 1,860 Inactive
    I could start to use...

    Nothing I think!
