    Hi everyone.

For me, I start studying English when I was at high school then registered in an English institute. after that started the collage and my department was in English focused mainly on medical English.

within times my English language getting better but still I have difficulties especially during speaking and when try writing with out thinking on words not in my mind.
When I talked to any person not understanding Arabic I can speak English better than when I talked with another one who understand Arabic.

My situation getting any one to be crazy and confused, but I will working hard to be a fluent English speaker hope we can study together and help each other.

@Haifaa You need to overcome your fear of talking to people who don't speak Arabic. I faced this issues few months back when I couldn't speak English infront of my colleagues but you will have to go through it and once you are through, you will feel it very easy for you to communicate with others.

@Bubbly Do you speak English with your colleagues? Mine problem here is that I have very few opportunities to speak English, I only speak in the cram school with other students and the teacher. Now I try to improve my listening skill by listening to BBC documentation stuffs through youtube. The best thing about learning through youtube is that I can listening to the stuff again and again and try to keep up with those unfamiliar words. I have watched the French revolution history via youtube recently. BBC really do some good stuffs. I learned a lot from that.

@chyijung The situation is same here. I have few opportunities to speak English, just through the internet. If I don't have internet, I couldn't improve myself. Hungary is not on top in the education of english language.

    Hi, guys.
I think my biggest problem is that I am trying to learn English in a passive way, e.g. watching films, reading news and forums. It helped me to improve my reading and listening but still, my writing and speaking is far from desirable level. Should I focus mainly on learning vocabulary? What do you think?
  • catyfiruzecatyfiruze Posts: 35 ✭✭
I guess when you study English the most important is to speak as much as possible

@catyfiruze I think writing skills are also important along with speaking English. I do both but writing English helped me a lot to speak English.
