"The April rain, the April rain,
Comes slanting down in fitful showers,
Then from the furrow shoots the grain,
And banks are fledged with nestling flowers;
And in grey shawl and woodland bowers
The cuckoo through the April rain
Calls once again."

Who can explain this paragraph ?
In the first sentence (I remembered to do my homework), the person speaking remembered they had some homework first and then carried out the action and did it. In the second sentence (I remembered doing my homework.), the person speaking carried out the action (their homework) first and then remembered doing it.

    It looks to me that ''I remembered to do my homework'' you made an effort to remember to do your homework. ''I remembered doing my homework'' you remembered it easily.

    In my opinion, the first sentence (I remembered to do my homework) means that the speaker/ the person who's speaking had remembered to do his homework. He remembered that he has some homework to do. He has not done it yet!

    Whereas, the second sentence (I remembered doing my homework.) is somewhat same. But according to your post, you seem to be confused. It means that the person didn't forget to do his homework. In other words, it means that he remembered doing his work ; he did his work on time. He did his homework!

    Hope everything would be clearer now @fereshteh! :)
    Good day! :)
