"Still lie the sheltering snows, undimmed and white;
And reigns the winter's pregnant silence still;
No sign of spring, save that the catkins fill,
And willow stems grow daily red and bright.
These are days when ancients held a rite
Of expiation for the old year's ill,
And prayer to purify the new year's will."

    On my cup there are drawn lots of little hearts, and I share it only with my wife, of course!

    Yes, I have a favourite mug, but I do not have any problems if someone of my family members uses it.

    Would it sound rude if I say that my favourite mug is my own "mug", @Lynne ?

    @April, I won`t have any problems, but if you are not around, how knows.....

    The next vote here could be about a toothbrush. In that case I am more than strict.

    Here`s a joke: A recently divorced man asked his ex-wife, how she had got over all the bad names he called her, whereas she replied, oh that was okay every time you called me those I used to clean the toilet with your toothbrush.

    That was the first thing that came to mind when I read the question, @Hermine . :)

    But as you know me, my answer has nothing to do with the question, it's not a serious answer, right? :)

    Yes. You can touch it but don't you dare to comment on it negatively. :)

    I have a beautiful Chinese tapestry mug. I like to drink coffee and tea in it. I think its not about only mug but your association with it and usually a mug presents your feelings and emotions like my two colleagues have mugs with their Zodiac signs and similarly another colleague uses a mug that was her birthday gift from her mother.

    Nothing wrong at all @Hasti. I have my favourite bowl. (I'm French, so no mug, but a bowl.) I'm just surprised that some people like @Bobmendez need the infectious disease excuse to justify that he's got have a favourite mug. ;)

    @Zom , As I have running in my daily schedule, I should drink too much water and other liquids to replace the evaporated water of my body.
