"The April rain, the April rain,
Comes slanting down in fitful showers,
Then from the furrow shoots the grain,
And banks are fledged with nestling flowers;
And in grey shawl and woodland bowers
The cuckoo through the April rain
Calls once again."
Mathilde Blind, April Rain

I need to improve my speaking skills, i think chatting with english speakers through skype will be better and effective. so those who are interested to chat with me can join me in skype, my skype id is ullasudayan2
@ullasudayan2 ... You could also attend some sessions on Second Life SL, it's another Learning English platform. Take a look at calendar activities.. ☺
i think there are lot of ways for it.
* Listning( through watching movies and english news every day)
* speaking with others( anyhow try try try one day you can fly)
*speak with yourself(go to the inside of the mirrow and speak)
*writing ( learn some difficult words and make sentences and combind these sentences together)
I think the best way to improve English language skills are watching movies in English, reading some articles in English and as main point is speaking with native speakers
Hi,
I'm a new member here..I want to be an active member so can anyone tell me what can I do to be active...I'm really looking forward to improving my English skills and speaking
@HashimMagdy Hi and welcome! you can be active taking part on the forum and also if you want, you can attend some of the activities and sessions during the week. Feel free to explore the network and join any of these sessions.
Yes, I often do it and I think it has helped me to a great extent. I pronounce words correctly and my ascent sounds good. But I still lack fluency and vocublary @bubbli
I think the best way to learn english fluently is to live into an Anglo Saxon country. I did it once but, but during a relative short period of time, that is, 10 months. The main problem is that while you are not fluently it is pretty difficult to make a friendship with native speakers.
Sometimes people live in a Anglo Saxon country for many years and they do not learn the language because they must work to pay for their expenses. If you go to the United States, in cities like New York, it is pretty easy to live in a neihbohood where you can find people who talk your language. You can get on with basic things because they understand you.
The same ocurr in Europe. If you go to an english course in Ireland, UK, Malta, you will meet foreingners who id doing the same. In that sense, it will be pretty hard to improve your english level talking to foreigners.
It is true that watching movies, documentaries as well as reading newspapers, magazines and so on will help you, but it will take more time than if you could do it in exchange with other natives.
I strongl belive this site helps us to practice english through forums. That will certainly speed our learning. In addition to that, it might be fantastic talking to native teachers through the skype.
To sum up, I reckon that self learning, exchanging experiences and teachers support is the best strategy for those who are not learning by immersion in an Anglo Saxon Country.
@Paladino You will learn a lot here. I am saying it based on my personal experience. Please explore different sections of this forum, participate in discussions, and have a fun.
After you've been a member of the Forum for a while @Hikomaru, you can join the Skype sessions that are available. These give you an opportunity to practice speaking. Unfortunately I can't run any at the moment as my access to the internet is a bit restricted.
