By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.

Helen Hunt Jackson - September
The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze.

John Updike, September

Word Association - Easy peasy game that anyone can play.

Read the previous word, think of a new word, reply with that word.

Swap a letter - A more challenging game.

Read the previous word, and then swap the letters round (you change and swap one letter in the previous word) to make a new word. All words must be 5 letters long - no repetitions allowed.

Be careful to follow the rules, or you might lose points.

Take 3 words - Practise writing sentences

Make a sentence from the three words given.

Sneaky Word Snake
write a word using the last letter from the previous word.
