Old Year and New Year by Christina Rossetti
New Year met me somewhat sad:
Old Year left me tired,
Stripped of favourite things I had
Baulked of much desired:
Yet further on my road to-day
God willing, further on my way.

Re: New members - Introductions
Hi everyone. Welcome to LEN forum. Wishing you a blessed new year !
Re: How can I join the Network sessions?

is there anyone who can tell me when and how can I be the second star member?
Re: What Are You Going To Watch On TV Next Season?
I'm watching The Tunnel, series 2. I think it is better than the first series, but maybe this is because the characters are now more familiar.
It seems that series 3 may already have been aired in the UK, though I'm not sure it is available yet for downloading off the internet! (
Re: Bad habits and good habits
I'd like to curb my sugar intake by replacing biscuits/sweets with fruits. I've already made a personal resolution to pare down the amount of times I drive to work to once per a fortnight. I use public transport instead and get off the bus a few stops earlier to walk the rest of the way. I wish I exercised more regularly as well.
Re: Jokes about men and women
An English professor wrote up on the board “woman without her man is nothing” and told his students to punctuate it.
The males in the class wrote “Woman, without her man, is nothing.”
The Females wrote “Woman! Without her, man is nothing.” ;)
